What you'll be doing:
- Design, develop, and deploy V&V hardware and software test solutions, systems, and automated test fixtures necessary for comprehensive Lidar sensor characterisation and validation.
- Contribute significantly to the implementation and maintenance of the test software architecture using industry best practices.
- Utilize strong Python skills to develop scripts and programs for test automation, data acquisition from sensors, and post-processing of results.
- Design and develop scenes containing objects placed at several range locations to characterize Lidar systems is a controlled environment.
- Execute detailed test plans, protocols, and test cases (functional, performance, reliability, environmental, etc.) on Lidar systems.
- Manage, process, and analyze large datasets generated from testing activities to identify performance trends, system anomalies, and root causes of failures.
- Generate accurate and timely V&V reports, including detailed test results, summaries, and documentation required for compliance and internal review.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (R&D, Hardware, Software) to review requirements, ensure testability, and drive timely issue resolution.
- Participate in defining and refining the overall V&V strategy and best practices under the guidance of the V&V Manager.
What you'll have:
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in Verification and Validation, Test Engineering, or Quality Assurance for complex hardware/software systems.
- Experience working with electromechanical or optical systems (experience with Lidar or similar sensor technology is a strong plus).
- Strong proficiency in Python for test scripting, automation, and data analysis.
- Proven experience contributing to or implementing test software architecture and frameworks.
- Experience with data analysis techniques and tools for handling large datasets (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, MATLAB).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Knowledge of measurement instruments and data acquisition hardware.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability in report generation.
- Highly analytical, methodical approach to problem-solving, and meticulous attention to detail.
Nice to Have
- System-level understanding of Lidar systems, including optics, mechanics, signal processing, and embedded software.
- Experience with Lidar perception concepts (e.g., point cloud processing, object detection) or other automotive sensor modalities (camera, radar).
- Familiarity with industry standards for safety-critical systems, such as automotive safety (e.g., ISO 26262).
