Location: Remote in the US, with 25% US-based travel
- Own electrical feasibility, design review, and scope definition for AC‑powered Vehicle Intelligence deployments.
- Evaluate existing infrastructure (utility power, poles, cabinets, metering, grounding) and determine required electrical work.
- Define compliant electrical approaches aligned with NEC, local AHJs, and utility requirements.
- Serve as final authority on electrical assumptions used in proposals, SOWs, and deployment plans.
- Act as the primary electrical SME for customers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Support Sales and Pre-Sales by validating electrical scope, risk, and cost during deal qualification.
- Advise Product and Engineering on electrical design constraints, installation standards, and field realities.
- Represent Axon credibly with inspectors, utilities, and permitting authorities when required.
- Serve as Axon’s qualifying individual for electrical contractor licensing requirements where applicable.
- Act as QA authority for projects that require an Electrical Contractor’s license.
- Review vendor proposals, pricing, and scope for accuracy and compliance.
- Identify and mitigate over‑scoping, under‑scoping, and non‑compliant vendor practices.
- Establish repeatable electrical standards and playbooks for partners.
- Lead electrical risk management for deployments, identifying issues early and driving resolution.
- Support Professional Services Managers and Deployment Managers with electrical decision-making.
- Create and maintain electrical SOPs, scoping templates, and training materials.
- Drive consistency and scalability across regions as Vehicle Intelligence deployments grow.
- Participate in selective site walks, inspections, and field validations to de-risk complex deployments (travel ~25%).
What You Bring
- Must have an active North Carolina Electrical Contractor (EC) license, in good standing.
- 7+ years of experience in electrical infrastructure, commercial power systems, or related fields.
- Deep knowledge of AC electrical systems, including services, panels, grounding, conduit, and outdoor installations.
- Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Demonstrated experience scoping, estimating, or overseeing electrical work for commercial or municipal projects.
- Ability to translate technical electrical requirements into clear business and delivery decisions.
- Comfortable engaging with customers, inspectors, utilities, and executive stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- North Carolina Alarm Systems Licensing Board license.
- Master Electrician license or equivalent advanced credential.
- Experience supporting camera, ALPR, ITS, EVSE, security, or smart‑city deployments.
- Experience working with utilities, pole owners, and public‑sector customers.
