Responsibilities:

  • Define HW architecture for integration into OEM vehicles
  • Define and Design mechanical and thermal hardware solutions
  • Design cosmetic covers and finishes for the autonomous vehicles
  • Work with OEM and partners to get buy in on final designs and integration plans
  • Help build and improve new and current designs
  • Work with cross functional teams to define product requirements
  • Ensure that your work is performed in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure team compliance with QMS, monitor quality, and drive process improvements.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of hands-on, detailed product design experience
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, Unigraphics
  • Experience working with surfacing tools on CAD tools
  • GD&T knowledge and experience releasing 2D drawings
  • Experience with vendor FAI/CPK dimensional reports
  • Practical experience working through DFM challenges with external vendors
  • Pdmlink/ Arena knowledge and experience a plus

Preferred Skills:

  • Extensive experience using CAD, product design, managing requirements, tracking and resolving issues and resolutions.
  • Ability to work cross functionally with other departments to achieve product goals.
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical and manufacturing process experience and engineering development.
  • Experience with FEA tools and understanding of vibration, fatigue and solid mechanics
  • First-principles physics understanding of multiple engineering disciplines such as: heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and electrical fundamentals.
  • Ability to travel.
