Cloud Architect (Azure)

Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive application migration and cloud readiness assessments.
- Lead high-level and detailed architectural designs covering Azure Well Architected Framework pillars and application modernization requirements.
- Facilitate requirement-gathering workshops, clearly translating business and technical requirements into actionable design documents.
- Develop and present Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) calculations and migration cost analyses to stakeholders.
- Provide expert guidance and leadership throughout cloud migration and modernization projects, ensuring alignment with architectural best practices.
- Collaborate proactively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, developers, project managers, and business stakeholders.
- Ensure clear, concise, and proactive communication across all levels of the organization.
- Travel up to 15% domestically
Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or regional equivalent required
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in a field related to the role. At the manager’s discretion, additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement
- A minimum of 8 years of proven experience as a Cloud Architect, specifically in application migrations and modernizations within Azure environments.
- Deep technical knowledge in Azure Cloud services, networking, security frameworks, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Kubernetes (AKS), container technologies, and Azure App Service.
- Strong hands-on experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD using GitHub Actions or similar tool.
- Demonstrable ability to conduct effective cloud assessments and translate business needs into high-quality architectural designs.
- Exceptional soft skills, including clear communication, proactive engagement, and effective teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Security Engineer Associate).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and frameworks.
