- - Be part of a team of multidisciplinary Engineers and Research Scientists using an AI-first approach to enable safe self-driving at scale.
- - Lead the design and development of automotive-grade electrical distribution systems, including wire harnesses, connectors, load analysis, pin outs and vehicle networks.
- - Develop complex 3D CAD assemblies that integrate COTS and proprietary hardware across diverse vehicle zones.
- - Tailor integration strategies for various vehicle platforms (passenger cars to heavy-duty trucks) while adhering to specific technical requirements.
- - Deliver production-ready 2D and 3D CAD packages, applying GD&T and detailed specifications to ensure precision fabrication. Includes development and upkeep of device transmittals.
- - Utilize deep knowledge of injection molding, machining, sheet metal, and casting to optimize part design for manufacturability.
- - Oversee technical implementation from initial prototyping through final vehicle launch, collaborating with build technicians to validate hardware performance.
- - Resolve complex electromechanical interface issues between proprietary technology and OEM platforms through rigorous diagnostics.
- - Manage end-to-end subsystem details, including BOMs and mass roll-ups, while ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- - Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering disciplines.
- - 5+ years of automotive or aerospace harness assembly design and release experience.
- - Experience with electrical harness and routing CAD design in the automotive, autonomous vehicle industry or equivalent.
- - Experience / understanding with harness sub-components, rapid proto-harnessing sub-assembly, and form-board production assembly processes.
- - Hands-on experience and willingness to build rapid-prototypes, including supporting the procurement of necessary components.
- - Effective ability to package harness in 3D virtual environment, understanding. non-compliant ergonomics, tach-times, and vehicle assembly sequencing.
- - Experience packaging harnesses with consideration of communication protocol circuits (ex: CAN/LIN/Base T-1000/video, lighting signals, etc.).
- - Industry standard knowledge of design verification testing required for various Harness Assemblies.
- - Strong 2D CAD experience and proficiency with Zuken, Capital, MentorGraphics, Arcadia, or etc.
- - Ability to interface with connector, PDC, vehicle architecture and systems engineers to manage all electrical aspects of wiring design.
- - Proficient in Google Workspace (formerly Google Suite).

- The US yearly salary range for this role is: $155,000 - $230,000 USD in addition to competitive perks & benefits. Waabi US Inc.’s yearly salary ranges are determined based on several factors in accordance with the Company’s compensation practices.
