- At Astranis, you’ll operate in a fast-paced environment supporting the build of all PCBAs required for satellite production. The team emphasizes quality, manufacturability, and throughput, so this role will play a key part in advancing and maturing our PCBA manufacturing capabilities.
- Assist with first pass DFM reviews, helping the teams drive towards designs that are manufacturable
- Perform physical reworks and repairs as non-conformances arise
- Perform secondary processing for components to prepare them for assembly
- Obsess about material movement, board status and throughput, ultimately shepherding boards from entry to to exit
- Perform incoming and outgoing inspection per IPC-610 Class 2/3 standards
- Triage non-conforming hardware and work with the quality team to surface corrective and preventative actions
- Be a system and documentation champion: specifically reviewing MES dashboards, producing metrics, writing up accurate non-conformance reports
- Associate or bachelors degree in engineering or manufacturing
- 4+ years of experience working hands-on in a production environment as a technician in the aerospace, automotive, or similar industries
- Demonstratable soldering skills
- Direct experience operating SMT equipment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Must be onsite 5 days a week
- IPC610 certification
- J-STD-001 certification
- Experience working in a clean room environment
- Experience working with electrical schematics and PCB design files, especially in Altium
- Experience working with EE bench test equipment (power supplies, multimeters)
- Advanced soldering and rework skills (BGA or similar high density packages)
