Responsibilities and Duties
- Design and lead migration architectures to transition workloads from VMware environments to AWS Outposts and Red Hat OpenShift platforms, ensuring alignment with business and technical objectives.
- Conduct discovery, dependency mapping, and readiness assessments to define migration strategies and phased execution plans.
- Define target state architectures including networking, security, storage, and compliance while governing migration waves and sequencing activities.
- Oversee Infrastructure as Code implementations using Terraform and Ansible, ensuring automated, scalable, and repeatable deployments across hybrid environments.
Qualifications and Skills
- 8 to 15 years of experience in solution architecture with strong focus on VMware and AWS ecosystems.
- Deep expertise in VMware vSphere and VMware Cloud Foundation, including workload discovery and dependency analysis.
- Proven experience designing hybrid architectures leveraging AWS Outposts and container platforms such as OpenShift.
- Strong knowledge of AWS infrastructure, networking, and security best practices for enterprise environments.
- Hands on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and configuration management using Ansible.
- Experience with automation pipelines, YAML configurations, and CI or CD driven deployment models.
- Familiarity with migration factory models, wave based migrations, and structured transformation programs.
- Ability to design rehosting or replatforming strategies including network conversion and workload optimization.
- Strong governance mindset with experience aligning architecture to Statements of Work and enterprise standards.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to collaborate with program teams, SMEs, and client leadership.
