As a Commercial Strategy Manager, you will sit in the Global Commercial Strategy team, reporting to the Global Commercial Strategy Director. You will work on special projects across the Global GTM in service of revenue growth across all of our regions.

  • You will be joining GoCardless at a very exciting stage of our journey, and through a laser focus on commercial activities, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to scale our business across all of our core markets.

Specifically, responsibilities will include (but not limited to)

  • Running special projects - bringing clarity, structure and direction to high level themes such as moving up market, scaling pipeline internationally
  • Working cross-functionally with key stakeholders across Sales, Partnerships, Customer Success, Revops, Product, Operations and Finance
  • Supporting with discovery of new business opportunities, working closely with our product, risk and compliance teams to establish business cases
  • Supporting quarterly planning process with Global GTM leadership
  • Launching and scaling new products and features
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives across all key GTM areas in close coordination with Commercial Strategy Director

What makes this role unique

  • You will operate as an extension of Global GTM leadership — diagnosing gaps, shaping strategy, and ensuring execution lands across Sales, Partnerships, PMM, RevOps and Product.
  • You will regularly work on initiatives that don’t neatly fall into any one function but are critical to scaling revenue.
  • You will be accountable for making change happen, not just producing recommendations.
  • You will alternate between high-level strategic work and hands-on delivery.

What excites us

  • 3-5 years in strategic consulting and/or in a commercial strategy/business operations role at a fintech/B2B SaaS scale-up
  • Proven ability to take ownership of an initiative from problem framing through to execution and measurement — not just problem analysis
  • Ability to translate complex pieces of information into digestible chunks of information through content creation, process definition and strong visual presentations
  • You have a strong understanding of business archetypes from SMB through to Enterprise
  • Strong numerical skills to ensure success of everything we do is measurable by a core set of metrics
  • Ability to craft compelling, executive-ready narratives that drive alignment across senior leadership
  • Experience establishing or operating within planning cadences (quarterly planning, OKRs, GTM reviews)
  • Structured thinker with ability to frame and solve unstructured problems
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including senior stakeholders, along with strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to make clear, defensible recommendations under imperfect information, balancing strategic ambition with practical constraints.
  • Strong prioritisation instincts — able to separate noise from material levers for revenue impact.
