You must be a current law student enrolled in a JD program at an accredited college or university, and ideally have completed or be currently enrolled in a Contracts course to be eligible for this internship.

  • In this immersive program, you’ll join the Legal team, supporting projects across contracts, privacy, compliance, and intellectual property that drive OpenSesame’s growth and protect its innovation. You’ll gain experience reviewing agreements, conducting research, and assisting with compliance initiatives while learning how AI and legal tech are transforming in-house practice.

About the Legal Team

  • The Legal team combines precision and innovation to ensure compliance, safeguard intellectual property, and help OpenSesame scale responsibly. Partnering across departments, the team manages contracts, supports data privacy, and advises on business strategy with a focus on critical thinking, collaboration, and curiosity. As AI transforms how organizations operate, the team explores new ways to integrate automation and data-driven insights into legal processes, staying ahead of the curve in modern in-house practice.

By 2 Weeks

  • Learn OpenSesame’s legal processes, tools, and contract management systems.
  • Review standard agreement templates and conduct research supporting compliance, privacy, and risk management.
  • Shadow the legal team to understand how we collaborate cross-functionally across departments.

By 30 Days

  • Assist with reviewing and organizing agreements in the company’s contract repository.
  • Support compliance initiatives related to privacy, intellectual property, or AI governance.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to update templates and refine internal documentation or playbooks.

By 60 Days

  • Take ownership of a project that enhances legal efficiency—such as optimizing workflows, exploring AI-assisted research, or improving contract lifecycle processes.
  • Present your findings and recommendations to the team, showcasing your ability to analyze, community.

Creative Project Requirement: As part of your application, you are required to submit a creative project that helps us get to know you beyond your resume. You’re encouraged to choose any format that best represents you — for example, a short video (under 5 minutes), slide deck, written reflection, cover letter, vision board, Miro board, or another medium that showcases your ideas and personality.

Program Dates:

  • Anticipated Start: Tuesday, 16 June 2026
  • Anticipated End: Friday, 28 August 2026 (We can adjust up to two weeks earlier for students returning to school before the program concludes)

Commitment

  • Full-time (40 hours/week)

Eligibility and Location:

  • Must be a current student enrolled in a college/university program or have graduated within the past 12 months (undergraduate, postgraduate, or associate programs accepted)
  • This position is fully remote and can be based anywhere in the U.S.

Compensation

  • Standard: $25/hour
