What You’ll Do
- Contribute to and often lead significant cross-functional workstreams within and occasionally beyond their business unit.
- Lead broad research projects with complex user journeys, utilizing data-driven and principle-based solutions to generate impactful insights.
- Guide project direction, delivering complex research projects with significant business impact by influencing the setting of objectives, strategy, milestones, and execution.
- Influence product priorities and strategy through compelling research insights. Be able to pivot their point of view when presented with new information.
- Apply advanced expertise in a range of qualitative and quantitative research skills, while maintaining proficiency across all core research methodologies. Influence the craft of others and contribute to elevating overall work quality within the team.
- Create high-impact artifacts (e.g., reports, presentations, workshops) that drive alignment and innovation, influencing fast but high-quality decision-making across directly relevant teams.
- Drive consistency and quality across interconnected research projects. Create and hit milestones with minimal guidance and estimate project timelines well.
- Develop into a cross-functional leader, building relationships with stakeholders across the function and business unit, including through participation in cross-functional forums. Navigate stakeholder tradeoffs to guide research decisions that impact other teams.
- Contributes actively to the research team through knowledge sharing (tools, methodologies), thoughtful collaboration, and positive engagement.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related field (Graduate Degree preferred).
- Eight (8)+ years of experience conducting user research in a product development setting, with a demonstrated track record of influencing product strategy and leading complex projects.
- Advanced expertise in a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to synthesize complex information from diverse sources and identify critical, strategic insights.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate research findings clearly, persuasively, and strategically to a variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, lead projects, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong understanding of the tradeoff between rigor and speed in research, and the ability to apply this understanding to project planning and execution.
- Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex and strategic projects simultaneously.
- A strong drive for continuous learning and self-improvement in advanced research skills and product knowledge.
