You will…
- - Lead and mentor a team of Fleet Maintenance Technicians and Vehicle Reliability Engineers.
- - Develop training programs to upskill technicians and engineers on best practices in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and maintenance.
- - Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous learning within the team.
- - Oversee regular inspections, maintenance, and repair activities for the autonomous truck fleet.
- - Ensure diagnostic processes are effective and that root cause analyses are conducted to resolve recurring vehicle issues.
- - Collaborate with engineering teams to implement temporary fixes and long-term design improvements.
- - Support in-depth issue investigations related to software, and hardware for both the base vehicle and autonomy system
- - Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex fleet-wide issues and drive resolution strategies.
- - Standardize technical reporting and documentation for vehicle issues, repairs, and performance tracking.
- - Establish and refine preventative maintenance programs to maximize vehicle uptime and safety.
- - Work closely with engineering, operations, and safety teams to enhance fleet reliability.
- - Communicate key performance metrics, challenges, and fleet status updates to leadership.
Qualifications
- - 7+ years of experience in fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, reliability engineering, or related fields (autonomous vehicles, heavy-duty trucking, robotics, aerospace)
- - Strong leadership experience, including managing cross-functional technical teams.
- - Proficiency in troubleshooting vehicle systems, including electrical, mechanical, and software-related components.
- - Familiarity with Linux-based diagnostics, CAN systems, and vehicle telemetry data analysis
- - Experience working with autonomous vehicle systems, sensors, cameras, and onboard computing is highly desirable.
- - Solid understanding of computer networking fundamentals.
- - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into strategic actions.
- - Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and adapt to new challenges.
- - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field preferred.
- - Technical certifications (ASE, OEM training programs, or equivalent) are a plus.
- - Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
