Responsibilities:
- Architecture and design: Design infrastructure solutions adapted to our quantum measurement needs and define technical standards
- Strategic projects: Lead high-impact projects such as:
- JupyterHub migration to Kubernetes for our data science workflows
- Internal cluster consolidation and optimization
- Scalability solutions for our growing quantum measurement resource requirements
- Time-stamping infrastructure evolution and improvements
- Docker → Kubernetes migration for legacy applications
- Infrastructure management: Implement and maintain servers supporting our quantum operations
- Observability: Complete the deployment of our monitoring stack (node-exporter, Grafana) across all infrastructure
- Innovation: Propose and implement solutions to support the company's rapid growth and evolving quantum computing needs
- Technical advisory: Support teams on infrastructure matters and drive continuous improvement
Technical environment:
- OS: Mainly Linux (Ubuntu), a few Windows servers
- Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes (internal cluster)
- Infrastructure: Hybrid on-prem/cloud architecture
- Monitoring: Grafana, node-exporter, Prometheus
- IaC: Terraform, Ansible
- Development: Python widely used across the stack
Requirements:
- Solid experience (5+ years) in infrastructure and systems
- Core expertise: Linux (Ubuntu), system architecture, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Python (scripting, code understanding)
- JupyterHub (administration and deployment) - a real plus
- Designing scalable architectures for high-performance computing needs
- Hands-on experience operating and maintaining Kubernetes in production environments.
- Proficiency in Python, including scripting, automation, and the ability to understand and review application code.
- Experience with JupyterHub in administration and deployment; exposure to multi-user, scalable notebook environments is a strong plus.
- Proven ability to design and implement scalable architectures tailored to high-performance computing.
- Experience managing hybrid on-prem/cloud infrastructures
- Knowledge of infrastructure best practices (monitoring, high availability, security)
