Your Role

  • Rig Quality & Versatility - Create stable, flexible, and animator-friendly rigs supporting both body and facial motion—including mocap workflows
  • Technical Accuracy - Ensure rig hierarchies, joint placements, naming conventions, and deformation principles meet pipeline standards
  • Timely Deliverables - Deliver rigs on schedule, aligned with character readiness and animation team milestones
  • Tool Development & Automation - Develop and maintain scripts/tools (Python, MEL, etc.) that optimise rigging, skinning, and export processes
  • Facial Rigging Excellence - Build expressive facial rigs that support lip sync, facial motion and blend seamlessly with mocap systems
  • Reusability & Scalability - Design modular rigs and templates for efficient reuse across similar character archetypes or re-skinned assets
  • Autonomous Execution - Proactively solve technical rigging problems with minimal supervision, owning the rigging lifecycle end-to-end
  • Engine Integration - Ensure rigs function correctly in engines such as Unreal or Unity, handling retargeting, LODs, and constraints for real-time performance
  • Team Mentorship & Support - Guide junior riggers by sharing expertise, reviewing work, and documenting best practices
  • Skinning Quality - Deliver clean mesh deformations across joints and poses, supporting both gameplay and cinematic fidelity
  • Creative Problem Solving - Innovate solutions for complex rigging scenarios—such as creature rigs, dynamic systems, and advanced facial setups
  • Pipeline Contribution & Documentation - Maintain well-documented rigging workflows, standards, and tool libraries to support team-wide efficiency and consistency

Must Have

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Rigging and skinning for games, films, or cinematics
  • A portfolio with show-reel in video format or online video link
  • Familiarity with animation integration in engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative production environment
  • Knowledge of Maya & MotionBuilder for animation refinement or export pipelines is a plus

Good to Have

  • Experience in facial animation and lip-sync workflows
  • Knowledge of motion capture systems (Vicon, OptiTrack, Xsens)
  • Experience with Python/MEL scripting for MotionBuilder pipeline tools
