Key responsibilities
- 3 major focuses:
- Own the monthly finance reporting package, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial and operational insights.
- Define the management P&L, including design, structure, and ongoing reporting cadence.
- Lead and own board reporting, including preparation of materials, financial exhibits, and delivering insightful strategic commentary for the CEO and top leadership.
- Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate management reporting for product updates, new product launches, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Own the finance model we share with potential investors, ensuring every quarter it’s updated with actuals and aligned with current projections, a bridge from GAAP to Management reporting, and keeping up to date with Accounting convention changes.
- Lead PayJoy’s 3-year plan in partnership with top finance, GTM, and product leaders.
- Drive the global budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with company strategy and functional priorities.
- Own the company’s process to track global headcount vs. budget, partnering with HR, Talent, and department leaders to monitor hiring plans.
- Provide financial leadership and business partnering support to 3–4 global functions, offering analysis and guidance to enable data-driven decision-making.
- Define and maintain the corporate department and GL structure, ensuring the framework supports scalable reporting, accountability, and transparency.
- Lead long-term financial planning, scenario modeling, and capital allocation frameworks.
- Provide executive leadership with financial insights that influence strategy, pricing, investments, and operational optimization.
- Drive finance transformation initiatives including system improvements (e.g., ERP, planning tools), forecasting automation, dashboarding, and BI enablement.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in corporate finance, FP&A, financial strategy, or related senior finance leadership roles.
- FinTech, banking, or lending corporate finance experience strongly preferred due to the complexity and regulatory nature of the business model.
- Demonstrated experience owning company-wide budget processes, board reporting, and executive-level financial communications.
- Experience partnering with accounting and product teams on financial structure, reporting updates, and new product enablement.
- Expert experience with PBCS / Hyperion (Oracle EPM) or comparable enterprise financial planning systems.
- Strong accounting foundation; CPA preferred.
- Mastery of financial modeling, forecasting methodologies, and management reporting design.
- Deep understanding of US GAAP and its interaction with management reporting structures.
- MBA preferred.
